So, I worked harder because I thought if I could figure out how to do it right, I could fix it. And myself. I understood that I needed to take care of myself, but I was stuck in survival mode, bouncing from one emergency to another, losing bits of myself along the way.
It turns out I wasn’t broken; my operating system was. The lessons I learned about thriving did not match what thriving meant to me. Let me say that one more time. Burnout does not mean broken.
